NEW YORK, NY June 28, 2016 — New York Surf Soccer Club is pleased to welcome Coach Brooke DeRosa to the club’s Nassau County-based coaching leadership team. Coach DeRosa is currently the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Adelphi University, one of the region’s leading Division II women’s soccer programs.
In her first season as Head Coach, DeRosa led Adelphi to the program’s first Northeast-10 Conference Championship in 2015, compiling an 18-3-2 record, including a 19 game
unbeaten streak, and was named the NE-10 Coach of the Year. Coach DeRosa previously was an assistant coach at Saint John’s University. Prior to her time with the Red Storm, DeRosa was an assistant coach for her alma mater, Hofstra University, where she won the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) as an assistant coach in 2012, and was an All-American as a player in 2007. For her efforts, DeRosa earned third team All-America honors from the NSCAA and was a first team all-conference selection as well as an all-tournament team member.
A Long Island soccer standout, DeRosa played for the Long Island Rough Riders organization from 2002-04 and from 2007-12 and helped the team to a W-League Northeast Conference title in 2012. Prior to starring at Syracuse, DeRosa was a five-year varsity starter and team captain at Connetquout High School, two time All-Suffolk County recipient and part of the regional Olympic Developmental Program, including playing for the ODP International Regional Team in 2000 and 2001 and leading the Eastern
